Jeanne-Marie Jackson-Awotwi is assistant professor of world Anglophone literature at Johns Hopkins University, and has a PhD in Comparative Literature from Yale. She writes for venues including Public Books, n+1, 3:AM Magazine, The Conversation, Bookslut, Africa in Words, and The Literary Review. Her first book is South African Literature's Russian Soul (Bloomsbury 2015), and her second, The African Novel of Ideas, is forthcoming from Princeton University Press.
